HELP ME!! PLEASE......

Some of you may remember that i have mentioned that Brayden had started potty training. He did this on his own....starting telling us that he wanted to go on the potty. I was thrilled....Colby was difficult to train so i thought maybe i had paid my potty training dues and this time around would be easier. HA....HA....HA.....Did you guys think that last statement was as funny as i found it??? Anyway...everyone has their opinion on pull ups and ours happens to be that there isn't anything wrong with using them. But after him doing so well for a while he just starting peeing in his pull up. It seemed to me that he was just doing it because he knew he could. So last week we decided no more pull ups and started putting him in underwear. We did the potty chart and he gets to put a happy sticker every time he goes on the potty and he gets a sad face when he goes in his pants. We ask him regularly throughout the day if he needs to go. I expected that there would be accidents but this is getting crazy...i feel like i can't leave him in sunday school w/ underwear on or go to his fave lil play gym cause i'm so afraid that he will pee. Now...i'm at a loss....i have no idea what to do. The following scene is becoming all too familiar and i'm quickly losing patience.......

He is still just peeing himself. I DON'T GET IT!!!! Is he just not ready??? But he has shown that he knows how to do it. I just don't know what to do next and while i appreciate that my couch probably hasn't ever been cleaner i don't know how much more of this i can take. We make him "clean" it up every time hoping that it would help him to stop doing it. NOPE. I keep telling myself tomorrow will be the day we start to see improvement but my optimism is fading quickly. HELP! Any ideas, comments or slap upside the head like duh! suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just don't know what to do! And i know there are alot of mommies reading this so chime in and help a sista out!!

WOW - this is probably one of the oldest dilemmas of all time! I wish I had some good advice, answers, etc.. for ya, but I really don't have anything good. I was a director at a preschool for many years - and this was a question we were asked on a daily basis - HELP ME - WHAT CAN I
DO??? There is no perfect answer because every child is so different. My son was so hard to potty train - I thought it would never happen & I mean never.
The only thing I can give you - is just be consistent, no matter what you choose to do, be C.O.N.S.I.S.T.E.N.T.

And just hang in there, as frustrating as it is, someone told me once when I was at my most frustrated w/my son - "I promise you he won't go to kindergarten in diapers/pull-ups" and he didn't!

Hey there I agree just ride it out, yeah it stinks but someday he will just have it down. What about bribing? probably wont completely work. Ryker wet his underwear one day when i was already running late and I jerked him up and changed his clothes so fast he was scared and then he was potty trained, lol. Try not to stress too much he'll get it down!

I've got good new and bad news.

The bad new:
Okay so Luke is still in pullups at night and HE'S FOUR! I'm at my wits end! We have to wake him up at 2am and again at 4am for him to make it through the night. I'm just too tired. I keep hoping one night he'll wake up with a dry pullup. Oh yeah and we've tried EVERYTHING!

Now for the good news:
He's been day potty trained since he was 21 months. What did we do?
We put cherios in the potty for him to aim at! This was HUGE fun for him. We also set a timer every hour- that got a little annoying, but it helped remind him to go. Eventually we stretched it out to an hour and a half, two hours and so on. We also didn't put underwear on him until we were SURE he could make it on his own. He went around the house without anything on for three days. He had two accidents, but that was it.

Don't know if this helps, but it might give you something you haven't tried yet.

Does he enjoy wearing the big boy under wear?
